Mindful Art
My mission is to use natural products to create organic art that brings you grounding, tranquility and peace. I am inspired by our roots, all of nature's beauty, and protecting the eco-system.
From an early age, nature has been a constant source of wonder and inspiration. The colors of our planet, I am simply drawn to it all: vegetables, fruits, flowers, animals, sunsets, rainbows... I could go on forever. Childhood was spent outdoors, immersed in the sights, textures, scents, and sounds where my imagination could wander freely.
That deep appreciation for beauty naturally evolved into a lifelong passion for art and creativity. Sketching and painting classes began at a young age, and my dreams at night have been kept in a journal since childhood and continue to inspire much of my creative process today.
I earned a degree in General Studies from Wichita State University, with concentrations in Psychology, Anthropology, and Art, along with a minor in Organizational Leadership and Learning, that nurtured my curiosity about human connection. The study of human behavior, culture, creativity, and artistic expression revealed to me the many ways people have adapted, evolved and connected throughout history. Additional studies in graphic design, art history, marketing, logo design, and typography continue to influence my creative endeavors. Learning remains an ongoing journey through books, travel, classes, and a growing curiosity about creativity, wellness, and the human experience.
In addition to creating artwork, I offer art classes, wellness art experiences, and gentle yoga sessions designed to inspire creativity, mindfulness, and self-expression. Whether exploring artistic techniques, moving through gentle yoga, or simply making space to create, my intention is to provide experiences that encourage curiosity, presence, and connection. I also volunteer with the Art of Elysium, facilitating creative experiences for children in hospitals, senior citizens, and individuals with special needs.
Be Colorful began in 2010 as a hand-illustrated cookbook celebrating vibrant nourishing recipes. Although that original vision centered around colorful foods, it soon expanded into a broader philosophy of living consciously, simply, and in harmony with nature.
Today, every piece of artwork is created using 100% natural pigments sourced directly from Earth. The paints are non-toxic, eco-friendly, and beautifully enduring, while the canvases are handcrafted from hemp and recycled materials. Natural textures including sun-dried flowers, herbs, and other elements are thoughtfully woven into some of the pieces, creating artwork that reflects the beauty and authenticity of the natural world.
Mixing paints by hand and building each canvas from the Earth's gifts is a practice rooted in gratitude. Meditation and prayer become part of my creative process, gently guiding each brush stroke with intention. Every pigment and natural element is honored for what it offers, with the hope of returning that same sense of peace and connection though the finished work.
Inspired by our roots, the wisdom of nature, and the importance of protecting our ecosystem, each painting is created to bring a feeling of calm into the spaces where people gather, reflect, and heal. Through soothing organic forms, earthy tones, and mindful craftsmanship, I am dedicated to creating meaningful artwork that nurtures both home and heart.
~May each piece serve as a gentle reminder to slow down, reconnect with nature, and find beauty in the simple moments that color our lives.
